Passionate about the world of arts and culture? We’ve highlighted some key cultural events (both near and far) that focus on fashion, films, dance, art and books. Mark them in your calendars – most of these you’ll be able to watch or read about online, while others you could potentially attend in person…

SUN 5 FEB | 65th GRAMMY Awards

When it comes to music, the GRAMMY Awards is the most prestigious event of the year. It’s where musical artists spanning all genres get recognised for their talent. There are almost 300 nominees this year, including Abba, Harry Styles and Adele.

WED 8 MAR | International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day is a global day-long celebration of women’s equality and achievements. This year’s theme is all about embracing ‘equity’ – giving everyone what they need to be successful, even though what one person needs might not be the same as another.

TUE 18 APR | The London Book Fair

One for the authors among you, The London Book Fair (18–20 April), brings together story creators, publishers and other industry bods. It’s a great place to make new connections, participate in group conversations and watch presentations from successful authors. You’ll also discover the latest book-related technology and publishing solutions in the ‘Tech’ area.

TUE 16 MAY | Cannes Film Festival

The 76th International Festival de Cannes is one of the most important film festivals in the world. It aims to raise the profile of films and contribute towards the development of cinema. Typically, festival-goers are A-list celebs and film industry professionals; however, you can watch live coverage online from 17–28th May.

SAT 10 JUN | London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week is held three times a year, 10–12 June being one of them. It’s the place to see the latest menswear and womenswear fashion from some of Britain’s most iconic designers, such as Roksanda, Burberry and Molly Goddard.

THU 13 JUL | Venice Dance Biennale

The 17th International Festival of Contemporary Dance is being held from 13–29 July in Venice and is one of the city’s main cultural events. The programme isn’t yet announced, but you can expect daily events with soloists and companies, plus activities from the Biennale College Danza.

FRI 4 AUG | Edinburgh Fringe Festival

For three weeks in August (4–28), artists and performers descend on Edinburgh for a massive celebration of arts and culture. The festival showcases all sorts of talent – big names and growing artists working in theatre, dance, comedy, cabaret, musicals and more.

SAT 19 SEPT | Milan Fashion Week

One of Milan’s semi-annual fashion weeks takes place from 19–25 September, spotlighting the spring/summer 2024 womenswear trends. Expect showstopping presentations from world-famous Italian fashion brands, such as Gucci, Prada and Fendi.

WED 11 OCT | Frieze London

Frieze London is an influential contemporary arts fair co-founded by Matthew Slotover. This year, it’ll take place from 11–15 October in The Regent’s Park, London. Those attending will see some of the most exciting emerging and iconic living artists and innovative practices.

MON 13 NOV | Global Entrepreneurship Week

Global Entrepreneurship Week celebrates innovative startups with around 35,000 events across 125 countries. By taking part in one, you can make new, long-lasting connections, get access to a mentor and access the resources (and potentially capital) to grow your creative business.

THUR 7 DEC | Art Basel (Miami)

Art Basel is an international art fair staged at various locations worldwide each year, including Miami Beach. Leading galleries from five continents will exhibit significant works by established modern and contemporary artists and showcase up-and-coming talent.
