How Women Trounce Men When Raising Seed Crowdfunding CapitalJuly 24, 2017
Male entrepreneurs may account for the majority of business owners raising finance on crowdfunding platforms in the UK, but their female counterparts are far more likely to get the support they seek, new research shows. Female-led crowdfunding campaigns in the UK were 29 per cent more successful at reaching their funding target than male-led campaigns during 2015 and 2016 according to a study just published by PwC and The Crowdfunding Centre.
The authors looked at more than 19,000 seed crowdfunding campaigns conducted on a variety of platforms in the UK over the past two years. They found that while 20 per cent of male-led campaigns during this period reached their financing target, some 26 per cent of female-led campaigns were successful.
