Congratulations to Westminster University for launching their very first pop up shop, showcasing the work of student creative entrepreneurs!

Maximalism is the central theme of Westminster University's pop up shop which runs this week (9-15th December) at 67 York Street, in the heart of Marylebone - one of London's most exciting shopping destinations.

Drop by to explore the unique creative products on offer - including textiles, clothing, photography and illustrated works. You will also have the opportunity to commission bespoke work from the student entrepreneurs directly!

Here's why exhibiting students are delighted to be showing and selling their work:

Charlie Hanley - Current Final Year Student - BA Photography:  “The pop up shop is a way for me to gain exposure for what I love doing, work as a team with other creative people, showcasing our talents and at the same time gaining entrepreneurial skills for the future.”

Gea Myllynen – Graduate - BA Fashion Design: "The Pop Up is an opportunity for me to get a reaction and feedback of my garments from the public, showcase my new collection for any potential buyers and learn about what it takes to sell your work in a shop."

Chloe Hughes – Graduate - BA Photography: “The pop up shop means I can gain some exposure on my work, collaborate with other creative areas, and develop new skills in curating and what it means to be a commercial artist.”

Manon Planche – Graduate - BA Fashion Design: “This Pop Up is a wonderful opportunity for my brand to get more visibility. I will use it as a Showroom to invite prospective buyers and press to come and browse through my pieces as well as giving the opportunity to potential costumers to buy a few items directly. It will be a mix of my AW18 graduate collection and some new exclusive pieces from SS19. It is incredible to get such support for promoting our creative work from the University of Westminster, and Future Icons, and I am really grateful for it.”

Yoana Puleva – Current Final Year Student - BA Illustration and Visual Communication: “"The Westminster pop-up shop is a brilliant and exciting experience for me to showcase my creativity and talent and hopefully inspire a unique Christmas gift for someone this year!”

Sarah Elliott – Current Student - BA Illustration and Visual Communication: “The Westminster Pop Up Shop is an amazing opportunity for me to share and promote my brand to a more sophisticated audience, as well as learn the process behind creating an event such as this one. Without the funding and workshops provided, I wouldn't have been able to take part in such an experience, for which I am very grateful.”

Mekala Fuller – Graduate - BA Fashion Design: “As a recent graduate establishing my own fashion brand, breaking into the industry is really daunting and having the University’s support is invaluable. The Westminster Pop Up is an exciting opportunity to showcase and sell my brand, in a beautiful location alongside fellow young artists and designers.”

Muzafar Tufail – Graduate - BA Illustration & Visual Communication: “A pop-up store provides a great opportunity for me to showcase my brand in an influential area of London. It allows me to demonstrate the ideas and values behind my brand and its products, as well as build a buzz to my potential customers and early adopters.”
